When asked how he got his start, Mr. Fakhry explained, “I’ve always been drawn to the craftsmanship and innovation that goes into creating boats. Growing up in Egypt, I saw a gap in the market for high-quality, locally manufactured boats that could compete with global brands. In 2015, I joined the family business, bringing a fresh perspective and a determination to elevate our product standards. Over time, I gained hands-on experience in fiberglass manufacturing and worked to align our production with international benchmarks.” This passion, heritage, and forward-thinking approach have been the driving force behind Bowfin Boats' evolution into a leader in the maritime industry and beyond. It is a journey driven by a passion for boating and a vision to put Egypt on the map as a global boat manufacturing hub.

I also keep a close eye on technological advancements and environmental standards to ensure our products stay competitive. When asked about their manufacturing, Mr. Fakhry explained, “Currently, we produce a range of 9 distinct models, tailored to different customer needs—from leisure and fishing boats to sports performance. Depending on demand, we produce 50–60 boats annually, focusing on quality over quantity to ensure each vessel meets our rigorous standards.” This focused approach allows Bowfin to maintain a high standard of craftsmanship while adapting to the diverse needs of its customers, ensuring continued relevance in a competitive market.

Ultimately, we want to contribute to the growth of Egypt’s marine industry and its global reputation.” By aligning its goals with industry trends, Bowfin is positioning itself to succeed in the global market and play a significant role in elevating Egypt’s marine industry worldwide.

When asked what marketing strategies Bowfin is implementing to attract potential customers, Mr. Fakhry said, “We utilize a combination of digital marketing, participation in regional and international boat shows, and building a strong social media presence to showcase our products. Additionally, we work on word-of-mouth referrals and engaging with our existing customer base to establish trust and credibility.” By effectively combining these strategies, Bowfin strengthens its brand visibility and fosters lasting customer relationships, which are essential for sustainable growth in the competitive boating market.

When asked what the biggest challenges are that he foresees in this market and how Bowfin plans to address them, Mr. Fakhry said, “One challenge is the high cost of importing raw materials, which impacts production expenses. To address this, we’re exploring local suppliers and innovative materials. Another challenge is the limited number of skilled workers in this field, which we are tackling through training programs.” By addressing these challenges through strategic sourcing and workforce development, Bowfin is positioning itself to maintain operational efficiency and stay competitive in an increasingly complex market.
To attract international yachting, Egypt’s marina infrastructure must be expanded with enhanced services to meet global standards while promoting the country's coastal destinations. When asked about the state of Egypt’s marinas, Mr. Fakhry said, “Egypt’s marinas have potential but require significant upgrades in terms of facilities, services, and accessibility. Expanding the number of marinas and improving their quality would attract international yacht owners. Additionally, promoting Egypt’s unique coastal destinations through global marketing campaigns can make the country a prime yachting destination.”

When asked how Bowfin can leverage tourism in Egypt, Mr. Fakhry explained, “By offering high-quality boats tailored to Egypt’s unique waterways, we can provide solutions for charter companies and encourage the development of local marinas. This, in turn, will attract more tourists seeking to explore Egypt’s stunning coastline and historical sites via water.”

In the future, we aim to form alliances with international distributors to expand our presence in global markets.”
